My dalliance with design work began in middle-school, when I first got a taste of what Adobe Photoshop could do by messing with cloning and getting way too into the smudge tool. Over the years I learned a lot more about design principles and started working primarily in vector, rather than just editing things for fun. That eventually landed me a job with a firm in South Africa, and was the cornerstone of a lot of work in my own firm during the 2010's. I also got really into making websites as a hobby and naturally increased my skills in that field as well, learning not only HTML & CSS as it evolved but various CMS & service platforms such as Wordpress, Drupal, Joomla, and more.

The Vagary of Fire RPG Layout
Sample inside spread of a project that required a great deal of consideration and design choices for readability. A game master needs to be able to identify rooms and monster stat blocks easily, and a great deal of information needs to be available in a short amount of space. This spread uses the standard two-column approach with a number of typeface and color considerations to keep it easily digestible despite the large amount of information contained on the two pages.
AVISOS CLASIFICADOS Y MAS
I was the layout (and more or less everything graphic) designer for SA Industrial Printing for a number of years, a marketing & publishing business in Southern California. This spread is the inside cover of the March 2014 edition of Avisos Clasificados Y Mas, SA's primary publication. It was quite a challenge every month, as there was few quality conformations for clients submitting ads, and a variety of different kinds of content to fit on a page and short turnaround times needed. This month was especially challenging with a large number of patron logos needed on the first spread. I couldn't always do my BEST work, but it was a great experience for dealing with the economic realities of different business situations.
Avisos Cover
The cover from the same edition listed above. I always enjoy working on covers because I tend to have a bit more freedom and higher quality source images to work to create an appealing aesthetic. Also, I got a T-shirt for this movie after this issue, although I still haven't seen it. I should fix that soon.
Excellence Homes
The first issue cover of SA Industrials partnership with Excellence Real Estate network. Unfortunately, I no longer have a digital sample of the inside spreads, particularly of later issues when my input was used to make it much more appealing. The blank space was for the addition of various agent profiles for regional customization.

The homepage of musician Joe Calderon. A longtime client and friend. Unfortunately, this can barely be called web design, as it's a theme provided by a service provider that just needs to be customized to fit the whims of Mr. Calderon and his record label. Still, I suggest a visit sometime just to hear his virtuosic guitar work.
